This classic St Simons ocean block bungalow is a short 2 min. stroll to the best beach on the Island. Our beach area is always dry as opposed to much of the rest where the beach sand is only available part of the time depending on the tides, basically from the King and Prince south. This beach bungalow, named the “Lucky Enough” is your perfect location for enjoying the beach on St. Simon’s, dining at CrabDaddy’s, Southern Soul BBQ, drinks at the King and Prince or launching a kayak for a tour of the marsh. The bungalow has undergone a complete renovation in 2017 with literally everything new except the studs and roof. It has a tall airy open feeling, ceiling fans, original exposed wood beams accent the tongue and groove beadboard ceiling. Restored with attention to details, you will find a reclaimed wood breakfast bar, granite countertops, cook’s kitchen with top of the line appliances, impressive reclaimed wood wrapping the fireplace and gleaming refinished heart of pine and oak floors. The cozy master has a king bed with a foam mattress and the 2nd bedroom can be configured as a king or two twins. Just let us know what you want and we’ll have it ready for your arrival. The living room has a pull-out couch should you need it. There are wall-mounted flat-screen TV’s in these rooms as well as WiFi throughout. After a great day at the beach, there’s a private outdoor shower and storage shed. At any time of the day, enjoy coffee or drinks on the screened patio or the shady front yard with table and chairs. There is a dining table with seating for 6 in the rear yard or enjoy the fire pit on those colder days. There is also a swing hanging from the Live Oak in the front.
There are beautiful moss-draped Live Oaks in both the front and rear yards to provide plenty of shading while you enjoy a meal outside or drinks with friends/neighbors. The dining room seats four at the table and the breakfast bar provides an additional 4 stools. The kitchen is decked out with a gas range, microwave, dishwasher, 36-inch side by side refrig/freezer and the washer/dryer. There’s a wicker desk in the guest bedroom waiting for the next great novel to be written!
The renovation brought the house to the most modern of standards while preserving all the charm and materials from the original cottage. For example, the fireplace is wrapped with wood salvaged from the attic, the sliding barn doors are from old attic beans as are the breakfast bar and the hallway opening. Renovated from the studs out, it’s the most adorable and memorable cottage on the East end and you will enjoy it’s very private location.
